Solenoid valve is a valve controlled by electric current both AC and DC through a coil / selenoid. This solenoid valve is the most commonly used control element in the fluid system. As in the pneumatic system, the hydraulic system or the engine control system that requires an automatic control element. For example in the pneumatic system, solenoid valve is tasked with controlling pressurized airways towards pneumatic actuators (cylinder). Or on a water reservoir that requires solenoid valve as a regulator of water filling, so the reservoir does not empty. And various other examples that I might not explain one by one here.
There are so many types of solenoid valve, because this solenoid valve is designed according to its use. Starting from 2 channels, 3 channels, 4 channels and so on. For example in the solenoid valve 2 channels or often called the control valve of 2/2. Has 2 types according to the way it works, namely NC and no. So the function is only to close / open the channel because it only has 1 inlet hole and 1 outlet hole. Or in the solenoid 3 channels that have 1 inlet hole, 1 outlet hole, and 1 exhaust/disposal. Where the inlet hole functions as the entry of fluids, the outlet hole functions as the release of fluid and exhaust functions as the removal of fluid/fluid trapped. And selenoid 3 channels are usually used or applied to pneumatic actuators (single work cylinder).
Solenoid valve will work if the coil/coil gets an electric current voltage that matches the work voltage (most of the solenoid valve work voltage is 100/200vac and most of the work voltage at the DC voltage is 12/24VDC). And a pin will be attracted because of the magnetic force produced from the selenoid coil. And when the pin is pulled up, the fluid will flow from room C to part D quickly. So the pressure in room C drops and the pressure of the fluid that enters lifts the diaphragm. So the main valve is open and fluid flows directly from A to F.
